Delete your Brieflee account
You can delete your Brieflee account and the data it holds at any time: in the phone app, on the website, or by writing to us. Here is how, and what happens when you do.
Before you delete
- If you pay for a plan, cancel it first. Deleting the account does not cancel it. On the website, open Settings, then Billing, and choose Manage billing, or write to billing@brieflee.ai.
- If you want a copy of your meetings, download it first. On the website, open Settings, then Account, and choose Download your data.
In the phone app
- Open the Brieflee app and sign in.
- Tap More, then Settings.
- Tap Delete account, at the bottom under Sign out.
- Type your account email to confirm, then tap Delete account.
On the website
- Sign in to Brieflee at app.brieflee.ai.
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Under Delete account, choose Delete account.
- Type your account email to confirm, then choose Delete my account permanently.
By email
If you cannot sign in, write to privacy@brieflee.ai from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We check that the account is yours, delete it, and answer within one month.
What is deleted
Your account and everything in it: your meetings, with their transcripts, summaries, recordings and screen moments, including recordings held on our own servers. It happens at once and cannot be undone, and we cannot recover a deleted account.
If you belong to a team workspace, the meetings your colleagues recorded are theirs and stay in the workspace.
What is kept, and for how long
- A record that the account was deleted, with its email address, kept with our security records so we can show the request was carried out.
- Payment records. If you paid for a plan or credits, our payment processor, Stripe, keeps the invoices and payments for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Nightly backups of our database. Each backup is deleted after 14 days, so your data leaves the backups within 15 days.
- Recordings kept only on your phone. The phone app can keep a recording on the phone alone. It stays there until you uninstall the app.
- Meetings your workspace keeps. If you are in a team workspace that keeps deleted meetings in its own storage, the files of your meetings already there (the recording, and the transcript and summaries if the workspace stores them) stay in that storage for as long as the workspace’s own policy says. Brieflee keeps no copy. Ask your workspace administrator about them.
- Website chat. Messages sent to the chat assistant on this site are not part of an account. They are deleted 365 days after the last message, or sooner if you ask.
